Every May, communities across the country recognize Mental Health Awareness Month—a time dedicated to increasing understanding, reducing stigma, and connecting people to the care people need. What began in 1949 has grown into a national movement centered not just on awareness, but on action, support, and shared responsibility.

On April 23rd, members of the Community Health Alliance team gathered for an evening that highlighted the very best of our field—dedication, compassion, and a shared commitment to strengthening mental health and recovery services across our community.
This Easter season, the Paragon Optimist Club continued its tradition of giving, partnering with Sojourner for the 11th year to deliver Easter baskets to children who might not otherwise receive one, as well as youth in residential programs. Christine Birhanzl, Director of Recovery Services, helped lead deliveries to the Recovery House, MAMA’s House, and children in the community who would have otherwise gone without.
